Media Convergence – Seattle

What an amazing 48 hours! Radio scanners, tweeps, local neighborhood papers, commenters, Google Wave and mainstream electronic journalists all coming together to create an amazing convergence of channels to acquire and disseminate information on a breaking news story. Of course I’m referring to the manhunt in Seattle for alleged cop-killer, Maurice Clemmons. Which is now concluded with the police scanner monitors, tweeters, then local TV station, followed by local print journalist with the Seattle Times on site in that order at 3:30 AM local time in order to cover the shooting of Clemmons.

More will come later. Must to work the daily grind now.
